Xplora Design Skool initiates Gujarat Animation & Design Festive 09 in Ahmedabad Colleges

Xplora Design Skool with the help of ‘Chitrakatha’ -International Student Animation Festival of National Institute of Design (NID) and contribution of some of the top Colleges of Ahmadabad has begun celebration of Gujarat Animation & Design Festival. This month long event is intended to help the college going students of Ahmadabad towards two areas: 1. Career opportunities in Animation & Design and 2. Inculcating the much needed Design Thinking amongst the young so as to nurture innovation & enhance creative thinking, all this is done with one objective, “Let’s together make Ahmadabad the Animation & Design hub.”

Xplora Design Skool has been celebrating Gujarat Animation day since 2004, a regular annual event in Ahmedabad which grew in its stature with each year. This year some of the colleges of our city requested them that such an activity should be done within their college premises so as to address the numerous budding opportunities in the field of Design & Animation. Xplora Design Skool with the support of Chitrakath 09, The International Student Animation Film Festival of NID has planned to give a Glimpse of the industry to college students, a Drive of introducing & expanding Students’ horizon towards opportunities & Future in the world of Animation & Design.

Recently National Institute of Design (NID) celebrated CHITRAKATHA 09 – An International Student Animation Festival a 3 Day event at NID Campus where in, Xplora Design Skool actively contributed through joint activities and students active participation in it. Further XDS took this responsibility in association with NID to spread Animation & Multimedia awareness among different colleges of Gujarat.

Gujarat Animation & Design Festival, 09 celebrations began at H.L Campus on 19^th & 20^th of November 2009. The two day celebration comprised  of Seminars by Experts in various fields like Graphics, Web 2.0, Character modelling in Animation, Media & Advertising, making of 2D film Mission India, making of film made by NID Alumni, Talk on Opportunities available in Design Industry Workshops on interesting topics like Croma, Cartoon making, Human anatomy & sketching, Wax Sculpture making and Competitions on Jingle making, Script writing, 30 Sec film making that would lead to inter-college competitions along with Winning movie Screenings of Chitrakatha 09 & Student work Displays.

The festival continues to go on...!!! As Similar kind of Celebration is also set to be organised at famous & renowned colleges like H.A, Som Lalit , Xaviers, CN Fine arts and many more. These colleges have invited Xplora Design Skool & NID to put up the celebration within their college premise in the coming days. Henceforth today we can actually realise Design & Animation have grown and made its position in the hearts of Ahmadabadis and the time will come soon when Ahmedabad would emerge as the HUB for Animation & Design education in the world.

It was a wonderful opportunity that gave students a deeper insight into creativity providing them host of other courses to choose from besides Accounts & Statistics.
