Inventor Releases buttoner to public
Easier way to button clothes. Aids people with disabilities or dexterity problems
6/23/2009 East Moline Inventor releases Buttoner to Public
In 2004 I went to put on a pair of jeans fresh from the dryer. I noticed they had gotten smaller from the dryer, which had happened before. You can struggle to button them and then they re-button the rest of the time you wear them. So being a Tool Maker I came up with an idea to make a fork to be inserted thru the button hole and engage the button using a lever motion you can easily pry the button to the hole. Once the button is drawn to the hole a quick twist engages the button to the hole, then the tool slides easily out leaving your pants buttoned. After building my tool and using it for a while I realized how pleased I was and the benefits it provided. It can be used after some experimenting one handed. Making a useful tool for someone that only has the use of one hand. (Stroke Victims, Disabled, Veterans etc.) This would also be handy for people on a diet or ladies at that time of month. Anyone who wants to get into a smaller pair of pants at the time. The large tool (Magic Buttoner) is used for pants. It is used by inserting the fork end of the tool thru the button hole. Proceeding past the button or snap, then with an outward motion of the handle engage the button with the fork end of tool. With a lever action pull the button to and thru the hole, with a twisting action engage the button with the hole. Slide the Buttoner out. Reverse process for unbuttoning. The small tool of the pair (Shirt Magic) is used for buttoning shirts. It’s used by straddling the threads of the button with the fork. The end of the fork extends beyond the button. Using that as a guide insert button thru the hole, once thru engage button with hole extracting the tool leaves the button in hole. It can be used for those stubborn collar and cuff buttons too. The pair of Buttoners have been sold Nationwide for $20 shipped to your home. 6/29/04 Chris Glaub Inventor and President-Magic Buttoner LLC I decided to invent something that would make the initial buttoning easier. I fashioned it from a steel fruit zester found at K-Mart. Using the tools I had at home from my trade I went to work using the skills I had obtained. Mathematics and understanding lever principles it was not hard to come up with an idea that would work. Now this tool is available to the public via the internet www.magicbuttoner.com and at 1-877-624-8190. These Buttoners are useful to older Americans that have arthritis or some dexterity problems. Also people with use of only one hand.
